If you're in the SF Bay area or don't mind paying extra for shipping, my friend's top-quality PC is up for grabs.

Due to some furiously shitty circumstances beyond her control (I'll be happy to lay it out for anyone curious, but you might be sorry you asked, it's that bad) she needs to turn this thing into cash ASAP. This is SF Bay area so if you're nearby you might want to just go pick it up; shipping is an option, but it will cost extra because my friend simply cannot take on the shipping costs.

BTW yes this is the same friend who I was helping link to her fundraising campaign a while back.

I kinda want to buy it myself just to spite that random dethtoll hating anon, but a) that's a really irrational reaction and b) no money. Hope she finds a buyer!

I'll see what I can do. Most of the people I know are broke themselves, with at least one also in imminent threat of homelessness/starvation, so I can't promise results.

Yeah, the homelessness thing is why my friend is selling this. She's been starving for 5 years and is on the verge of being homeless, and needs some quick cash so she can get some things in place (like buying a cheap laptop so she can look for work in a shelter if need be.)

Whatever happened, I hope she's okay. :( That said, I know you offered to tell us what happened, but if you don't mind me saying I might make sure she'd be okay with that...
