Actually yes! Didn't manage to snap a photo of that particular horse, but did get one of its companions. Specifically, Sneak saved it.

We were wandering around, exploring the surrounding area, and found a horse in this field who had gashed open its leg really badly. This being a very sparsely populated area, Sneak took it upon zerself to find the horse's owner, or at least a neighbor who could contact the owner.

Zie didn't manage to find the owner, but a family next door (and by 'next door,' we mean they were maybe a couple hundred feet down the road) did and were able to call. The owner was out of town and rushed back to attend to her horse, bandaging its leg and thereby making it well again.

As for the family, once they knew we were foreign, they had fun telling us about haka competitions, and showing us videos of their family competing with dance! It was really cool.
