Re: Which show's cancelation do you most resent?
Shows that weren't really given much chance to develop, like the already mentioned Century City and Selfie.
Pretty much any show which is pulled after less than a half-season because it hasn't quite found its audience yet. In that vein, the USA version of Free Agents, with Kathryn Hahn, Hank Azaria, and Tony Head, which got pulled surprisingly quickly. I liked that show.
One of the worst examples was Drive. Melanie Lynskey, Dylan Baker, Nathan Fillion, and Kristin Lehman in a cross-country road race. It had more minutes of airtime devoted to advertising it than it showing it. (It was shown in its regular time slot once, maybe twice?) And that's not the last time that's happened.
And...recently, I actually enjoyed The Crazy Ones, after expecting not to like it much. I think the advertising for that show overplayed the "familial love" angle, when they probably needed to show more of Brad Garrett and Robin Williams lumbering around being funny. It did get a full season, at least. But I think cancelling it was a slap in the face to a solid cast and writing team that could have kept performing decently for CBS.

(Anonymous) 2015-01-27 06:57 am (UTC)(link)And I am with you on the pulled after less than half a season thing. Heck some things don't even make it past a few episodes, and it's like... how do you expect people to get into something when it's gone so fast? It makes it obvious the network was against it from the beginning.
Plus I find that sort of fast cancellation ridiculous because it turns people off from watching first seasons of ANYTHING. I've heard several people before say they won't watch a premiere because they don't want to get invested in anything that will only last 3 episodes. I don't see how networks don't understand that they're just shooting themselves in the foot.
