The way so many people keep saying "Wah, shut up about those kids on tumblr, you should care about more important things!" as if it were completely impossible to care about important things and still get a little ticked off by assholes on the internet at the same time.

It has this "holier than thou" smell that always seems to imply "I'm a better person than you for caring about ~real~ problems".
You only read this one post by another person on the internet, why do you assume that this person only cares about that one issue?
