It's not trolling if it's true.

(Anonymous) 2015-01-28 01:00 am (UTC)(link)
Exactly. If it's true.

The show is decent. It's not the godsend that the fanbase portrays it as and it's certainly not the SHITTIEST SHOW EVER, but it's enjoyable to watch. If you watch a Sherlock show for anything other than a know-it-all detective, then you shouldn't watch it in the first place.

Anything is trolling in the right context.

OP is giving their arguments. This other fag instead of addressing them replies with a "lol the show sucks". That's pretty trollish if you ask me.

"Fag"? Really?

fag
/fæg/

1.
Extremely Disparaging and Offensive. a contemptuous term used to refer to a male homosexual.
2.
Offensive. a contemptible or dislikable person.

Using 2, not 1.

So I can use the "n" word and just say "oh, I wasn't using the slur definition?"

3. a victim of prejudice similar to that suffered by black people; a person who is economically, politically, or socially disenfranchised.

If you are using this one, why not.

Because it's still mostly used as an incredibly offensive, hurtful slur, and that's the definition most people think of when they see it.

The definition you quoted still says the second one is offensive.

(frozen comment)

(Anonymous) 2015-01-28 01:50 am (UTC)(link)
But it's not homophobic. That's the point.

I think it is though. But you don't seem interested in hearing the argument, which you and everyone else here has probably already heard enough times before, so I don't see any point in going on with this.

(frozen comment)

(Anonymous) 2015-01-28 02:09 am (UTC)(link)
But it's still offensive.

(Anonymous) 2015-01-28 01:48 am (UTC)(link)
Offensive. a contemptible or dislikable person.

See the word "offensive"? That indicates that by using this slur, you're potentially causing pain to a lot of bystanders reading your comment, and not just to the intended target of your insult.

The argument is "media is about style." But media isn't only about style, which makes it a bad argument. And what is the argument even supposed to be? That people shouldn't have a certain reason for disliking the show? People can dislike it for any damn reason they want, and OP has to learn to live with it, because she ain't gonna be able to force anyone to suddenly like it.
