It makes a lot of sense for a Bucky POV though, or a Natasha one too. I know at least one fic that used short Russian phrases (swears mostly) very effectively. It gave an impression of how Bucky is re-learning his identity, but slips into imitating the responses he picked up from his fellow soldiers. He thinks in English and the words that tumble from his mouth when he's startled may as well be random symbols to him as well.
Maybe I would see it differently if I didn't read Russian though.
