"Sass"? Because the only good thing black women are for is "Sass"? She's not allowed to cry? Or stand up for herself? Or stab a Klingon in the leg?? Confront of squad of Klingons alone?? And it's all canon??

You do realize that in that first gif, they're actually not themselves and are being controlled, right??

Actually, Uhura's in control of herself. It's just that she's acting here. They're all working together to try to behave as illogically as possible to cause Harvey Mudd's androids to basically "logic bomb" and stop functioning. Earlier in the episode, she also pretends to betray the crew for the promise of eternal beauty/immortality, but it's clear that she's just acting and Kirk tells her she did wonderfully.

judging from the intellectual depth of the original comment made by the person who posted the gifs, they probably don't even know what happened in the scene and posted the gif just because they think it's a 'sassy' moment.
If they actually remembered any of the awesome moments of the character, I doubt they'd post these particular gifs (one of which is a behind the scene). The fact they couldn't think about better scenes to compare to the ones of reboot Uhura speaks volumes.

Or I was just going to bed and didn't want to spent half an hour going through tumblr trying to find gifs of less popular, particular scenes (which I've done in the past; and then I've looked at myself and have gone "why the fuck did i just waste all that time doing that).

I will admit my use of the word "sass" was misplaced though. TOS!Uhura had a friendly playfulness to her in addition to her professionalism at doing her job. This manifested in the way she interacted with her crewmates both on and off stage. There are a lot of moments in TOS that I would have a hard time imagining reboot!Uhura doing. Part of that is because TOS!Uhura is older and the crew has been her extended family for years, but that change is a choice and I can still criticize it.

You made a bad argument because honestly the gifs of reboot uhura kind of suggest some character development that the first of tos uhura don't have. It's like you are comparing comedy with drama.
If like you implied people have a problem with her crying or kissing her boyfriend well, that's stupid because there is nothing wrong with either unless you are angry that she's a human or hate the second because it's against your ship. But neither are grand examples of her character being bad or the writers ruining her.
It almost seems like you are mocking her haters...
