Marketing is never going to reach everyone in the target demo, but theoretically, at least, you'd have more to relate to in Toy Story than the pragmatic kids who preferred sports and other games to make-believe. I preferred The Christmas Toy, personally, which is a Jim Henson special from the 80s that IMO did a better job of covering most of the same themes that Disney ripped off.
