His fiancee looks a lot like him. I thought only gay guys went for that when coupling.

It's really common for couples to look alike, regardless of orientation. There have been studies about it. Hence that whole "Lesbian look-alike lovers" cliche.

Yeah, maybe after 50 or so years together, not right from the start.

Nope. People are attracted to people who are like themselves. That's why we have such strong taboos against incest.

Class, intelligence, tastes, maybe. But certainly from my pov I and OH couldn't be more unalike physically.

They're talking about general trends. There are always going to be people who don't follow the norm, but if the majority of a population is doing A, it doesn't matter that you're doing B. It can still be said that the population tends to do A.

At least once every time my girl and I go ANYWHERE we have people asking if we're sisters....

I don't think we look alike at all really aside from our colouring (pale with dark hair) but it happens literally every time.

I think a lot of couples are known for this, gay or not.

I did enjoy that even before I knew she was his girlfriend I could pick which one she was likely to be from a group shot. Hello, face twin!

Apparently studies show you look for someone like your parents, not actually like yourself, although that amounts to the same thing on many occasions if you look like your parents.
