Re: Collectibles

I used to collect rocks. All kinds of rocks, stones, minerals, all those things. I wanted to be a geologist as a kid.

Now I mostly collect train tickets from other countries (if and when I happen to go there) and states. Sometimes receipts if I can't get a ticket (or museum tickets, etc.).

Any train tickets that stand out for being unique in some way?

Their uniqueness is more in the physical ticket--a metrocard (nyc) is not the same as a charliecard (boston)is not the same as the NJT ticket (but all of that is obvious). It's more the memory attached with tickets---especially if they name where I was going/coming from i.e. a ticket from Verona heading to Venice.

Tickets between regions/states are generally bigger, so the smaller city or within the city tickets are "easier" to stash/save. :]

I didn't know if any of the tickets were especially pretty or different. Certain sporting events have nicer tickets than others, so I try to keep the nicer ones.

The NJT bus tickets are pretty plain but I do like the metrocard.
