When my 4th gen nano dies (the short stubby one), I'll probably just transition to solely using my phone (Samsung Galaxy S3). I can't put iTunes on it, but I can access my library amd playlists through Google Play. I know, it's no wheel, but I imagine that's proprietary, anyway. Just another option, if you were thinking about upgrading your phone or streamlining your tech.
