See, I can kind of get behind the Donna thing. It made sense in a "I need to do this thing or my friend will die" way. At the same time, there was nothing saying RTD had to end Donna's story that way, so yeah.

So what happened to Donna was worse from an out-of-universe standpoint, but what happened to Harriet was worse from an in-universe standpoint, especially given what happened later with Harold Saxon and Children of Earth.

I can see that. (Especially since he KNEW that she was supposed to bring about a new golden age and decided "you know, fuck everyone who would have benefited from that, I think I'll just be petty because she wouldn't just obey me.")
