(Anonymous) 2015-01-30 10:53 pm (UTC)(link)The problem with acting things out on fictional portrayals is that, for someone wired that way, it normalizes it to the point where the line between fiction and reality blurs even further. Add into that the factor of their, generally, needing some kind of response or acknowledgement or power from their behavior, even if they indulge in fictional harm for a while, it's going to be unsatisfying and that's when the allure of real world harm becomes greater.
