23. Dude, werd. I have a friend who totally foists Yuffie on me and I'm like, "Eh.. I like Aeris." And I never really got all of the Selphie hate.. And, while she's not my favorite, I don't hate Rikku.. (I just really like Yuna. ^^;)

But really, it could have a lot to do with the subject matter.. Maybe some people just don't like girls hugging..? (If you've noticed, Keysha-chan also gets flack for when she draws two girls cuddling/being close as well, so that's pretty much truth.) Whereas when the character is alone (and there are a lot of other factors as to why she's so popular, for instance, anime fans flock to her style, not to mention all of the other fandoms she draws for. Jak may have been her big one for a while, but, it's changed up.. Even I didn't start watching her because of her Jak artwork.. It was FFX..), more people go for that kind of thing.

I could understand if you were comparing two pictures where it's the character alone, but one has what could be represented as femslash, and... Maybe some people just aren't into that and would rather go for the other one instead?

Oh, it's not that I'm saying that the subjectmatter is bad, but, sort of like how some people will ignore good artists because they draw yaoi, some people also ignore good artists because they draw yuri.

So, for the poster.. I would have chosen a picture of yours that was of Ashelin alone to compare to Keysha-chan's, rather than a picture that depicted something that could be overlooked because of what it could represent. ^^; Unless of course you don't have one... But to me it's unfair in that sense just as much as it's unfair that your artwork is overlooked when you're talented.. I hope that made sense. ;

Oh, I didn't mean it like that. I just meant it could have been just a picture of Ashe, and had the same amount of comments. I don't, actually draw Ashelin much XD I don't especially like her, and what I mainly draw IS Yaoi--I just recently realized how Asheira could work, so yeah. It'll never be loved outside me, so I wanted to give it fanart.

And thanks for the compliment, ^^ It's mainly, I think, because I came into the fandom too late. All the BNFs were jumping ship, like Keysha so -shrugs- yeah. Again, thanks XD

Actually, you should be somewhat thankful you didn't catch the fandom in its peek (which was roughly about the end of Jak 2/release of Jak 3). The fandom was so insane. Nothing on the level of some of the hugely hyped ones like KH or Naruto, but still....makes me wonder how much of the fandom the OP has seen if they thing pageviews and faves on the fanart is one of the biggest issues the fandom faces.

I just feel bad that this has gotten you caught up in one of those debates about whos art is better. You don't deserve that. D:

I've never actually BEEN in a fandom before this one o_O I don't think I would've minded all that much. I dunno, I mean, I do want attention--but who doesn't?--but I'm not actually all that...I guess active? So that probably plays a bigger role than anything--and a few people have actually pointed that out. I just don't know the first thing about getting known or anything XD

And thanks--I'm sure the OP didn't want it either. This place is supposed to be a place to vent more than anything -shrugs- But yeah, I appreciate the concern and I'm sorry you got backlash for it too >_
