8. Have you actually seen Higurashi? I hate it so much when people assume that people who like that show are bloodlusting freaks, when it's really isn't that bad. The characters are mostly nice people, and that's what fans like about them, not that they go nuts in one arc and chop people up with a meat cleaver. The second season hardly has any violence at all.

(Oh, and if you're basing it on the first arc? Keiichi is imagining that.)

End rant. Sorry, it's just a pet peeve of mine.

Personally, I stopped watching Higurashi out of boredom because it wasn't violent and disturbing enough for me, so I never understood the whole "OMG IF YOU LIKE HIGURASHI YOU ARE A MURDEROUS PSYCHO!!!" thing.

Higurashi is cute characters and positive moral values and happy fluffy friendships with interludes of violence that isn't really all that graphic, given the animation style. One of my friends was severely disappointed in the series too because she was promised lots of blood and gore by the general reaction to the show, and there just wasn't any.

If people think this show is disturbing, they obviously haven't seen real horror before.

Huh, I initially read the phrases as being the other way around -- the first line applying to Rena, the second applying to the other girl. Hard to tell, though, now that I look at it again. But one way or another, that's one of my pet peeves, too. Seriously, not everyone watches it for the violence, and even the people who do aren't necessarily on the edge of taking a cleaver to everyone around them. It's possible to like gore and psychological horror without being a violent psychopath yourself.

... oh, preaching to the choir. Right. Sorry.

Actually I read the secret wrong. x] I don't know what I was thinking it said when I wrote that, but my point still stands, even if I'm kind of agreeing with the secret now. Haha.

Actually, that was what I was trying to say. Why do people who like Rena, and Higurashi in general, get branded as mass murderers in the making? Kaede fans are much scarier. At least Higurashi fans admit that the characters go nuts and try to/succeed in killing people.
