At least with jrockers, they're real people & I can find something I like about them that I can actually find in reality.

Just because those characters aren't 3-D doesn't mean that I can't find something that I like about them, something in them that inspires me, something that turns me on. I can find traits in those characters that I can relate to, that I like to see in myself and in others; they exemplify the type of people that I am strongly attracted to or even wish to be myself.

One might argue that characters can become more real to us than "real" people in our daily lives-- in fact, it's be argued that is the point of fiction, period.

"One requisite of great writing is the ability to make a character come alive. By that we mean a capacity to go beyond the artful manipulation of words into the creation of a person who transcends the printed page. Who can claim that Melville's Captain Ahab or Dostoevski's Zossima are not in some intelligible sense 'real persons,' perhaps more real to us than some of the people in our daily lives? Such characters come off the page to converse with the reader; they seem to know us and our secrets at least as well as we know them; they reveal us to ourselves in ways not possible through simple self-analysis. Characters such as these are not mere projections of our psychological needs; they are independent selves capable of entering relationships. As Jung once said, 'It is not Goethe who creates Faust, but Faust which creates Goethe.' We discover the autonomy of such characters when they tell us things about ourselves we would rather not hear!"
-- Parker J. Palmer, To Know As We Are Known

Further:

I don't care if people find my opinion weird or disgusting, whatever, that's their opinion. My opinion is that touching yourself to paper & ink is odd, & that's why I made the secret.

I don't find it disgusting. I find it silly. And that if you think that jerking off to paper and ink is "weird", then I don't recommend buying stock in Playboy, as all it is is paper and ink. And a multibillion dollar business.

Just because those characters aren't 3-D doesn't mean that I can't find something that I like about them, something in them that inspires me, something that turns me on.

that whole paragraph, I totally respect that. I agree with you on that. Like, I love Kenshin's personality & I would love a guy that had a personality just like his. But, just because I love Kenshin, doesn't mean I'm going to go masturbate to his picture.

Is playboy animated? o_O I understand like yeah, nude models. When I mean paper & ink I mean people actually drawing out a character, I'm not talking about a photograph. Really, I don't know much about playboy so if there's drawings in there that people get off to...ah, ok. not my thing, would never do that. photographs I find different. *shrug*
i wasn't planning to buy stock there anyways xP

But, just because I love Kenshin, doesn't mean I'm going to go masturbate to his picture.

That's because we're different.
But just because we're different doesn't mean that you can be insulting, saying that everyone who isn't like you is "weird" and "living in a fantasy world."

The reason you got everyone on your case-- since you STILL don't seem to realize it-- was because you were insulting to everyone you don't understand, which covers a lot of ground and a lot of people.

There's not a whole lot of difference (to me, anyway) between an obviously airbrushed photo that displays more Photoshopping skill than photographic ability and natural beauty and a beautifully rendered drawing. Often, one might argue, the drawing is more realistic than what passes as photos in today's nude magazines! (And that's not even mentioning the oh-so fake-sounding "profiles" that they put with these images, an attempt to give those airbrushed beauties some "personality-- what a joke! They have all the personality of a blow-up doll. Give me a Photoshopped piece of artwork of my favorite kick-ass female character any day of the week!)

Whether you're just oblivious to sarcasm or deliberately obtuse, my point was that when you say something as dippy as [m]y opinion is that touching yourself to paper & ink is odd, you have to consider the full reach of what you're saying. Photographs and drawings are BOTH paper and ink.
