That is irksome, but I understand why someone really likes a prompt but not the specific characters/pairings. At that point you probably shouldn't be wheedling an OP to deliver your preferred version in their thread though. That's missing the point and hijacking.

Yet it still bugs me more when the prompt is copied over in another anyway, just to list that writer/OP's preference. Mostly when it's got a popular pairing in mind that means that the original prompt will likely be overlooked.

If you like a prompt, but not the pairing, you repost the prompt and say "inspired by the prompt above, I'd like to see [kink] but with pairing A/B". And then you fill your prompt yourself. Maybe it's annoying, but it's still better than hijacking a thread and saying "I filled your prompt, but with a different pairing".

I know it's irrational to be bugged by it. You're right about it being in its own thread though.
