Billy Elliot immediately comes to mind. I think The Three Musketeers didn't have any romance either, though I'm not 100% sure. Matilda should also fit your criteria, iirc.

I love musicals too, but funny ones are my favourites.

There's a musical version of Billy Elliot? That was a cute movie.

The musical is amazing! I saw it twice on the West End. I haven't actually seen the movie yet, but it's on my to-watch list because the musical is so great.

You can find the soundtrack on youtube, if you like. Elton John composed the music, and it's really good.

There's also been a live broadcast of the Westend show back in September, but I haven't found a good version of that online. I'm now impatiently waiting for the blue-ray to be delivered. (I love the musical A LOT. Seriously, it's great.)
