I wish there was more government/university sponsored GMO research that didn't dovetail with/suck the dick of big businesses. Like, not-for-profit, non proprietary GMOs. And engineering crops to take massive doses of herbicides without keeling over or produce their own pesticides--maybe if those herbicides weren't carcinogens and those pesticides didn't kill off pollinating insects, I'd be less creeped out. Basically, I'm pro-GMO while being anti Monsanto/Bayer et alm which in practice means I'm anti GMO.
