God, I love Philinda so much - their friendship is fantastic but I want them to be endgame.

I like their friendship, too. I also like how they're basically two attractive and kickass older people who are competent at what they do.

Yes! And to me the actors really sell that sense of the warmth that can come from a longstanding friendship, wher two people can say a lot, in just a look or a few words.

Yea, I'm kind of the same with these two. I haven't read much SHIELD fic in general (I looked for May/Simmons at the start of the series then read a bit of Mack/Fitz more recently) so I never got around to reading fic with them, but I'd be up for it. (Smut included.)

Their relationship is sweet and heartwarming no matter what form it takes.

I'm this way with Peggy Carter and Edwin Jarvis. Their chemistry on screen is fantastic (and they're just as adorable together behind the scenes, going by Haley Atwell's twitter). So I ship them so much (in an AU where Jarvis never met Anna) in fandom. But, I'm very glad they definitely won't get together in the series.

Alas, no. I'm just assuming that they won't go there since they have Jarvis being the loving, dutiful husband and Peggy is set to marry somebody else.

I mean, I suppose they *could* go there, but I'd be surprised if they did.

I really hope they don't. I liked the way they sliiiightly suggested that Jarvis is hen-pecked - then detourned that to show, no, he just really adores his wife, risked everything for her, and STILL loves her to pieces.

And also I adore when male-female friendships are portrayed as deep and lasting even when (gasp) there is no sex involved.

Text: There’s friendships that I kinda-sorta ship (I’ll read fic for them just to see how people write their dynamic) but I would NEVER EVER want to become canon.

There’s friendships I ship really hard, but know they likely won’t be endgame.

But this friendship -- I don’t care if they ever become canon (but I do feel there is a chance they could)

I just want them to keep having a happy, meaningful friendship. They obviously care about each other a great deal.

I like their relationship too, tbh one of the main things I like about the show is the character relationships regardless of it I ship them or not. They're all interesting to me.

As for Coulson and May I don't mind if they keep them as friends or have them get together, I can roll with either honestly.

I love them too. Although I feel pretty bad for May in the beginning of s2 - like I know Coulson had his own stuff going on but he was kind of a dick to her a lot. I'm glad they've fixed that now.

(I've been joking with a few friends that he must be damn good at cunnilingus for her to have put up with that.)

I really don't know how to feel about these two. I'd love to ship them, but can't so far. It's one of the main ships and TPTB seem to be encouraging it, but I'm not feeling it.

I can see where shippers are coming from. They obviously care about each other, they trust each other, they've been through a lot together. But that little spark, the fun, the flirting, I don't see it.

Then there's the fact that all of the big moments/confessions are from May's side. We haven't really gotten anything from Coulson. I think the show has a backstory in mind for her/him/them and until I know what it is, I can't commit.

It's also nice to see a friendship like that. Especially between a man and a woman. Because yeah, it is kind of *expected* for them to get together and that's a bit predictable.

I think we'll be getting answers soon, if I've heard correctly about the second half of the season.
