I don't like this theory mostly because the Reeds keep the Old Gods, right? What's the rationale for the masquerade? Weird theory.

This. If the crannogmen worship the Old Gods, why would one of them go through this elaborate charade even as a trick? It doesn't sound credible.

IDK, maybe the point is to act as a sort of agent provocateur to make sure the North never rallies behind the Throne--and, maybe, to encourage Northern separatism? It's bizarre, but otherwise I got nothing?

Text: Out of all the nutty GoT theories, the “Howland Reed is the new High Septon” theory is my least favorite, because the High Septon is kind of an asshat. I don’t like the idea that Reed would even masquerade as a religious fanatic, that would be so boring. :(

S!B it’s silly to object just on that basis alone. The theory does have its merits… I guess. But damn I’m going to be disappointed if it’s true.

It's a sparrow. The new High Septon (read: pope) denounces the luxury normally associated with the position and has a bunch of die-hard peasant followers, who are called sparrows. They might have a weird countryside uprising coming. Because High Septons don't have names (for whatever the fuck reason), this one gets called the High Sparrow a lot.

Wrens are the very small birds with the cute perky upturned tails.
