Text: I ship them as much as the next guy but it really bugs me how certain fans react when someone dares to say that they don’t think that Kazuki and Soushi have feelings for each other.

I’m afraid to admit out loud that I think that Soushi will end up with Maya (I don’t want it to happen, but some scenes gave me that feeling) - I know I’ll be accused of being a dude bro or mocked.

B!S I want them to be canon but I’m okay if they are just friends.

Oh gosh, a Fafner secret!
I'd love for them to get together (assuming they both live), especially because it's been so blatant. I'm not even much of a slash fan, but when I watched the first season, I was actually convinced that they were canon. But I guess I've become less optimistic, as I don't have my hopes too high.
I've never shipped Soushi/Maya and don't even get it (although I do like Kazuki/Maya) so them ending up together would be a disappointment.

See, there are very few ships where I have my slash goggles on so tight that I don't think they can be truly happy with a person that is not each other (wait... I think this might actually be the only non-canon ship I feel like this about...).

Like, no matter which one Maya would end up with - and let's be real, she's the only option for either of them unless they try to make Kazuki/Canon happen - it would always kind of feel like she was the third wheel, even if the other boy was dead. (She also doesn't deserve that)

But in the end I only want those two to survive somehow, cause I don't think either one could bear losing the other and I don't like my favs broken.
(I mean, even if one doesn't look at them as a romantic ship, I do think everyone can see that they're soulmates. The novel even throws the possibility out there that Soushi is more important to Kazuki than his own father and has Maya say that Kazuki is Soushi's most important thing)

Aaaand now I'm rambling (but it's a Fafner secret and Fafner always makes me feel things). I just want to add that you do you! I don't think this fandom is even big enough for serious wank and most people I've met are pretty chill about shipping and are more worried about their favs dying.

Fafner secret, ohmigod! Where do you even find people complaining about that when no one seems to be talking about the show at all??

I don't know about Soushi actually ending up with Maya but I do think that he is romantically attracted to her/into girls in general. The way I see it, Kazuki is totally gone on him and nothing is going to change that, but Soushi doesn't feel that invested to me, at least from what we've seen yet (kinda sad, b/c I ship them too and would love for it to actually happen).

This is also the reason I don't hang at the Fafner LJ com.... 99% of the people there seem convinced that Kazuki and Soushi are actual live-in boyfriends and like so in love zomg kawaiiyaoiyay!!! Maybe this is where you've been getting the weird reactions?

Funny thing is that even some of the dudebros over at 4chan ship it.
