it's actually a drawing of mine of a character of mine :) who will hopefully one day star in his own webcomic. (a few people have asked about him - I suppose I should take it as a compliment ^^)

This is the (partial) lineup I'm sorry you walked into it I'll stop now XD

Well so it's about this dude called Stratus who started life as a naga in a tribe of nagas (=half snake person). His sister fell ill and the tribe's scientists convinced him that the only way to save her was for him to become human so he could go among humans and search out a cure. He agrees with some reluctance.
He loses consciousness about halfway through the human-transformation process, and then wakes up alone in the desert, blind, and with a pair of legs he doesn't know how to use. He's found by Adele, a doctor (who is also an advanced magic user, because magic medicine is the most complex form of both magic and medicine), who takes care of him and wants to unravel his mystery - it's far more interesting than her life, which is currently stuck in a rut after she got in trouble, got kicked out of medical school, and is now stuck as a doctor for the local mafia.

And then there's the fact that cities are getting wiped off the map one by one.

...something like that. Basically it's a modern world that also has magic, and is about a bunch of people who are stuck cultures other than their own and trying to figure how to make do there.

Yeah, that's the plan. We're just taking it very slowly, because we want to plot out everything before we start drawing, because the plot is long and convoluted and the world is overly detailed. So we want to make sure we're absolutely sure of the story before we start drawing.
