(Anonymous) 2015-02-01 10:21 pm (UTC)(link)Lol, maybe I came up with a good idea? It would be nice if all the social justice wank
I just can't bring myself to call it disucssionwould be kept to one thread. I'm not hating on you all for wanting to talk about social justice things, but I do find it disappointing when I come to GC and most of the threads are about social justice stuff. I feel like it's even seeped into the secrets, and the discussions on the secrets. The whole "social justice had taken over fandom" isn't just true for tumblr, it's true for places like fandom secrets too. :/(frozen comment) Re: GUYS
(Anonymous) 2015-02-01 10:24 pm (UTC)(link)For me, social justice has taken over people I've known for years, and it's hard to discuss complex issues like racism with them because of it. As a result, when I see activists being racist, it bugs me, and most secret communities react the way my friends and acquaintances do. At least here I can talk about it and get halfway reasonable responses in return. Even if there's disagreement, I actually find the responses here to be far more reasonable than what I'd get elsewhere even for non-fandom issues.
