I was eager to see how SJ posters responded, but so far as I can tell, they haven't really responded. They talk a lot about how "shitty" it is, but the closest they've come to explaining the issue is referencing "thinly veiled racism."

(Honestly, I could probably pick a bone with its rejection of non-binary gender identities, but I feel like the point still stands.)
