One of the ways I fight writer's block is to turn my writing into a game. I challenge myself in any way I can think of. One of my favorite games is taking random bits of inspiration that have nothing to do with each other (pictures, songs, quotes, etc) and finding a way to combine them into a coherent storyline. I get so excited about some of these ideas that I can't wait to get writing. Sometimes the challenges involve writing itself, like putting my music playlist on shuffle and having to write something inspired by whatever song comes up by the time the song ends.

The best thing I've found to fight writer's block is a sense of fun. That could just be me though.

Sometimes it also helps to approach writing the same way I approach reading. I don't plan everything out, I just write the story as it comes to me, feeling my way along, and I end up dying to know what's going to happen next.

That's actually pretty good advice! I usually have no idea coming up with ideas, but I could definitely use some motivation. Thank you!

Enh, I have broken writer's block by taking on writeathon challenges (where I write whatever anyone asks for), taking a break where I DO NOT WRITE or think about it, or by taking on Nano.

(Nano is not my thing, but I will always be thankful that the one time I did it, it broke three YEARS of writer's block in one go.)
