MCU/AoS: Clark Gregg (Phil Coulson) is 52 and Ming-Na Wen (Melinda May) is 51. Robert Downey Jr.(Tony Stark) is 49, Mark Ruffalo (Bruce Banner) is 47, and Jeremy Renner (Clint Barton) is 44.

Person of Interest: Jim Caviezel (John Reese) is 48 and Michael Emerson (Harold Finch) is 60.

Hannibal: Mads Mikkelsen (Hannibal Lecter) is 49 and Hugh Dancy (Will Graham) is 39.

What I'm trying to point out is that since people ship these characters, I don't think age is really a deterrent.

Haha, nobody can ever believe how old he is, he's just one of those people. He was over 50 during Lost, playing a 40-43-year-old, and there were so many HE'S 54??!!? comments then. If you look at his high school pictures, he looks about eight.

Oh man, that is sort of my life. I got tall early so I looked older than I was, and then around sixteen or so I just... stopped aging or something. XD So at 31 I still get the stink eye from some people when I'm shopping on my days off from work, and I can't buy beer without having my DL inspected all o_O.

It's nice, just amusing. My parents have pretty good genes, my Dad's 64 and my mum's 59 and neither look their age. My mum only just started going gray like, last year or something.

LOL they think you're a juvenile delinquent. I still got carded late into my twenties but haven't bought any alcohol since then. I'm 40 now and only have a few fine lines, and I'm also very short, so I'm still assumed to be younger.

Look, I don't even see 60 as old or anything, but I honestly thought he was in his 40's. Dude has good genes.

To be fair, though, most of those people look younger than they are. I remember seeing some of the younger AoS fans freaking out when they realized Clark and Ming are in their 50s. And no one in the Lost fandom could believe Michael Emerson was in his 50s back then. And quite a few of those people would also be considered conventionally attractive so that probably doesn't hurt, either.

Then again, I've been in fandom long enough to know that fandom ships lots of pairings I wouldn't expect them to.

I can't believe Ming-Na is one year younger than that Coulson guy. She's twenty years older than me. Our love will never be realized. I'm assuming the age gap is the biggest obstacle..
