I even commissioned an artist I know for art of two of the characters, the game made that much of an impression on me!
Unfortunately, SDR2 went more of the dating sim route which kinda put me off.

OP
(Anonymous) 2015-02-03 02:13 am (UTC)(link)i thought it was a lot darker than the first since at least in the first game, we knew who was who and who (eventually) was the mole. with the second game, it seemed that there were a lot more secrets going on as well as hajime's true identity as well as the kids' real identities as well.
but anyway, who did you like?
Re: OP
Like, don't get me wrong, I enjoyed SDR2 and the characters. I just could've done without the whole "collecting underwear" thing.
We were rooting for Oogami, Kirigiri, and Asahina. (Sakura was my personal fav.)

OP
(Anonymous) 2015-02-03 03:14 am (UTC)(link)but yeah... i don't think you'll like the game after that, "another episode". in that game, there's a minigame where the bad guy little girl (who was abused herself) gets the high school heroine tied up and groped. your job is to stop these things from groping her... yeah it's.... yeah. i don't see it coming state side anytime soon.
NICE. oogami is my favorite, seriously, i looked up to her so much and i actually cried LOL like... i tried to get my boyfriend into it but he only watched the anime version so that wasn't a success...
Re: OP
Oogami is AWESOME. I love her design, her personality, and I ship her with Aoi. I also liked Chihiro a whole lot!

It seems you've gotten a boost to get on our path to recover, and that's amazing. Seriously, in this case "whatever works" really does apply.

You play one of those lucky boringass normal kids named Naegi. He comes to school on the first day, blacks out, and when he comes to, the school is completely locked up, there are steel plates covering all windows, and cameras and guns everywhere. The only other people are some of his fellow students, all equally as confused and reporting the same experience.
Then a giant demonic teddy bear appears. He tells you that all of you are going to live here FOREVER. There is only one way out of the school: murder a fellow student, and get away with it! If you get caught, you are summarily executed. If you get away with it, everyone else is executed in your place and you get free.

Transcript
(Anonymous) 2015-02-03 02:36 am (UTC)(link)text: for a game about despair and killing high school students, this game helped me seriously take better control of my almost decade depression. I’m by no means “recovered”, but i’m being more productive instead of waiting for my despair to kill me or make me kill myself.
this game also helped me better accept a lot of ugly things about myself, friens, and a lot of other people. and it makes me strive to be better than what i always thought myself as.
thanks, monokuma, i guess…
