My holiday job lost a few employees before we could have our big party and secret Santa exchange, so they laid away extra gifts in case anyone missed out. They were short one, so the manager told me to come into the store later that week. I thought she was going to make me something, but she gave me a hefty gift card for our store and told me to pick out whatever I wanted! I had to go to the doctor before I stopped by, so it really made my day.

I did! I bought one big thing since I had stocked up on most of the other stuff in the shop. I think some of it was also because she felt bad she couldn't hire me on full-time--it's a brand, but our shop was pretty small. She's very nice in general, though.
