Is there some group of minorities out there that's chosen to use the term colored to refer to themselves? I hadn't heard of it.

A few African American organizations still use 'colored' and 'negro' in their titles. I think it's partially a nod to their historical roots, but also because iirc black activists back in the day actually coined those terms and paved the way for their use as respectful words for black people in America.

Yeah but anon couldn't be the groups that anon is referring to, because those are the American minorities that have rejected the term and not the non-American minorities that they're appealing to, and also because those are kind of just well-known edge cases.
