I always prefer writing for other people or writing for a deadline, I'm less likely to go 'God, this sucks *deletes whole document*', which I tend to do a lot otherwise. I think if you're interested, you could ask for more details on what they have in mind and add that you can't promise it but you'll do your best. If I were you, I'd tell them upright that I'm not good at finishing stories most of the time too. That makes it extra special if you do finish it imo.
