This is a really interesting insight, and I hope you're around better-prepared people in the future. He can be a good doctor when necessary and a good psychiatrist when he wants to be. To me, that's the tragic part of him. He's very happy the way he is and will never be like, oh woe is me if only I could stop eating people, so it's not that kind of tragedy, it's more like a lost potential thing. He could do so much good with all that intelligence and hypercompetence, but something went wrong in there at some point and here we are. I feel like he has patients he never did anything awful to who are just going to be in denial about the whole serial killer thing and try to keep up their appointments after he's caught, lol.
