I have loved creepy stories from when I was a kid - I had a pretty big collection of books with creepy stories. I like it when movies have that subtle kind of horror, but so few have. Most of it is just scare jump, scare jump, torture porn, gore, gore, gore. And while I find that disgusting and potentially horrifying (if it gets to be, I always try to think about how the costume/prop/make-up department managed to achieve the effects shown), I don't really think it's creepy.
I love horror anthologies. Written, audio and movie. I am really fond of the Japanese kind of horror shorts like in "Tales of Terror from Tôkyo" - I wish there were more anthologies like that.
