The way you feel for your family is not the same way you feel for your friends. So why is it suddenly so odd that you feel differently for a romantic partner than your friends?

Absolutely you can love people in different ways, or even in multiple ways. And yes, I would say a romantic relationship is different from a friend relationship... because in romantic relationships, you have sexual attraction.
