Also, there are a lot of women who don't call themselves feminists because it's portrayed as being angry/bitchy/humorless or not shaving, but agree with a lot of the core feminist beliefs.

(Anonymous) 2015-02-08 06:02 am (UTC)(link)This probably makes me sound anti-feminist as all hell, but I can assure you I'm not. Just endlessly frustrated at people forcing the label on people who don't want to be assiociated with it or insisting if you agree with the core beliefs you must take up a label, especially when they can't even name what branch of feminism they are or have an inkling of the movement's exclusionary history.

But there are a lot of women who believe that woman should have the same rights, pay, and opportunities as men, even though they don't use the word "feminist" to describe themselves.
(Also, when 95% of the time society is set up to favor one group, it makes sense that the priority should be working to work on the issues that benefit the disadvantaged group first. "Fixing" the five percent of issues that work to their benefit before the majority of issues that are slanted against them would increase the total inequality between the groups.)
Aaand I've probably just given a serious response to a troll. Oh well.
