Re: What's haunted in your neck of the woods?

Haunted, no, but back when I was a kid, everyone in the neighborhood was positive the house next to ours was cursed. We lived next to it for almost twenty years, and let me tell you, when that house wasn't vacant, if the tenant wasn't batty before moving in, they BECAME so. No matter who lived in that damn place, things just seemed to go badly for them, and they'd move out pretty fast.

There were the drug addicts who shoved beer cans into their hedges and never mowed their lawns. Then there were at least two families who had such issues with their kids that at least one had to be sent away. One of those families also vandalized our family's car and were kinda frightening and apparently aggressive to other family members.

The nicest tenant I can remember was the other family, which had at least one kid sent to military school, but was otherwise pretty nice. They also had a blind cat who blundered into our yard periodically and got terribly confused and lost, but wasn't aggressive.

That house is probably STILL vacant. I dunno what it was about it, but people just never did well there.
