idk, the ending wasn't entirely happy to me but it didn't seem entirely unhappy either. It seemed mostly bittersweet: House managed to avoid going to jail (although he had to fake his own death to do it), he literally rode off into the sunset with one of the few people he's genuinely loved and had a lost lasting relationship with (whether it's platonic or not is up for debate), and he got to be there for said important person during the last months of his life. Realistically, it was about as happy as I expected for the show's finale. For a long time, I was pretty convinced that they would actually kill off House in the end because I figured they couldn't really do anything else with his character after the complete downward spiral he was going in.
