I love the Weird Al version. I don't understand the Donna Summers "MacArthur Park" version. Why was the cake in the rain?

I don't watch Adventure Time, so I'm not really familiar with the relationship, but I honestly can't imagine how MacArthur Park could fit it. Could you elabourate?

Well the two characters had a falling out in canon that Marceline was really upset about and shippers think it was a bad break-up. And this version of the song is much more over-dramatic and bombastic then the original song which was more of a ballad, which fits with Marceline's personality a bit better. Also the cake and icing metaphors works well with Princess Bubblegum who is made out of sugar and runs a candy kingdom.
