Re: Okay I don't care here come some pictures

I'm trying to think of literary sisters or friends-- like Anne and Diana (from Anne of Green Gables) or something from Little Women. Meg and Amy?

Petula. I'm suddenly rooting for Petula for the blue girl. And Lulu for the white one! (Pop singers from the 60s-- Petula and Marianne?)

Also, is there any chance there's some Catahoula in either of them? The blue one in particular looks a little like pictures I've seen of Catahoulas leopard dogs.

There's the tiniest chance of blue having - they are coming from a rural rescue that picked blue up from an even more rural pound. The catahoula numbers are unknown in aus but I have seen a few here and there in rescues

She has a very loud but short bay. But equal chance of her having aus shepard, coolie or heeler or the gd (I think the merle is why they reckon gd cross. Also a bit of greyhound?)

When I can afford it I might get a DNA test for fun :)

But yeah my thoughts are she's got catahoula or coolie in her. She's really trim. I'll get my gd owning friend to assess. Fun to think about!

Anne and Diana mightn't work, since they sound so similar, especially when yelled. They'd be such cute names, though.

Her body looks Catahoula, but her face/head shape doesn't, quite. Though I'm comparing her to a sample of one: my mom's Catahoula. Who has a lot of Bercheron in her lineage, apparently?

(And how a probably purebred Catahoula showed up in a Los Angeles shelter as an "Aussie Mix" is anybody's guess.)

I don't know how big the other dog is for scale, but Zip is big. Like, small Great Dane big. 85 pounds, much bigger than the Pit Bull mix. (And still was too terrified to enter the scary cat's bedroom.)

TL:DR, could be some Catahoula in there, could be one of the Catahoula's foundation breeds, could be something completely unrelated, because mutt ancestry is notoriously hard to pin down just by looking.

For names, I'm thinking Lucy for the white one, after the mom cat of a litter of kittens (including the one I ended up adopting) my friends took in a few years ago. Blue looks like an Annie to me, I'm not sure why?

Anyway, so cute!
