Hence why I said "if you can" -- lots of medical exams (and many, many surgeries) won't let you eat before.

It doesn't matter if a sugar crash occurs once you're allowed to go to sleep.

And sugar is surely better than caffeine -- it's food for the brain.

I mean, I'm not advocating that this be done regularly so I'm not quite sure why you'd say it would be terrible for anon's health.

I did this every once in a while when I wanted to stay up to study for exams (since I could easily go to sleep right after taking the exam). Helps you focus and gives you energy -- if my grades are anything to go by, it's a pretty good technique.

Yeah, no. It's to do with amounts of sugar. It's not nearly as effective as caffeine in keeping people awake, so you'd have to eat large amounts of it over, say, 8-10 hours for it to keep you awake overnight. Even a person who's not diabetic is going to feel rather sick if they take your well intentioned but completely idiotic advice.
