(Anonymous) 2015-02-11 01:30 am (UTC)(link)"morally good" when it comes to fanfic is a ridiculous concept at best.
But hey, at least you're proving the point one of the anons upthread is also arguing in an equally ridiculous way (that those who delete fic are selfish and immoral), so you keep on keepin' on.

(Anonymous) 2015-02-11 01:32 am (UTC)(link)I don't think the anon was saying keeping fic up was morally good. I think they were saying sticking to something you think is right when it makes you uncomfortable is good. That's a general principal that can be applied to anything.
Also, I'm not arguing that.

(Anonymous) 2015-02-11 01:53 am (UTC)(link)Did you not read my second comment at all? Since you apparently didn't, I'll restate it: it's okay to care more about yourself, and it's not necessarily okay to care more about what your readers think than about yourself.
Maybe part of the problem is people think doing things for yourself is inherently selfish and that doing things for other people is inherently selfless. But that's not true.
