Well, to be fair, a hit does not equal a "like".

The only way you can know for sure is if they leave a kudos or positive comment. A mere hit only means they visited the page. Maybe they immediately skittered away again.

If that's the case the really, really old fics that are archived on their own pages would never yield proof of continued traffic.
