Er, to rephrase that slightly, the film SSII was bad because they used someone who presented little more to the character than the physical. There's way more to Laurie than that.

Still so bitter. I loved Laurie in the GN.

It also didn't help that some of the better character moments for Laurie ended up cut from the theatrical version.

That said, I don't think she's that much stronger a character in the comics.
