I honestly thought she was pretty terrible in the role. I liked everything else but her terrible acting kind of filled me with second hand embarrassment.

I didn't think it was a great job, either. I keep looking at the costume/make-up and wishing they'd gotten Tilda Swinton to play her.

As much as I'd like to see Tilda Swinton as a badass bald blue alien (and I do, that sounds amazing), I really cannot see her in this particular role.

Nebula needs to be someone closer in age to Gamora and Ronan (whose actors were 35-36). The age gap between Zoë Saldaña and Tilda Swinton is 18 years, twice that of her and Karen Gillan.

This is not to say KG was necessarily the best pick for Nebula. Anna Torv (35), Ellen Wong (29), or Naomie Harris (39), Birgitte Hjort Sørensen (32) all would have been as good, or better.

Anna Torv is so sexy. I would LOVE to see her in a movie like that. Naomie Harris was fantastic in 28 Days Later and I think she'd do a great job with this one. Ellen Wong was the only bright spot in an awful shitfest of a movie (Scott Pilgrim). Never seen Birgitte Hjort Sorensen, I don't think. Anyway, great choices. I agree about the age difference.

Me too. I got secondhand embarrassment just looking at gifs of her in the movie. Actually seeing her in action was a terrible experience.

She didn't move well in fight scenes. Perhaps that's down to a lack of training/technique, but the role might've been better cast if they'd chosen someone with martial arts skills.

I don't know what it was, if it was the stupid voice or the OTT posturing. Yeah, though.
