Where did this Texts from Last Night come from? I've just discovered Texts from the Silmarillion. Some of it is funny, some isn't. But this seems to be a general thing with blogs for every fandom, and I don't get it.

Hmm. There's a Fanlore page, but it's not very informative: http://fanlore.org/wiki/Texts_From_Last_Night_Meme

Honestly, Utena-TFLM and Texts from Gold Crown (by the same compiler) are the only ones I've found that I actually think are funny. Most of them just take a random quote and pair it up with someone's shocked facial expression, as opposed to finding a situation that seems to demonstrate the quote.

Yes, there are a lot of unfunny ones. There are a couple ones on the Silmarillion one that are amusing me, though.

I think the funnier ones are the ones that seem to actually fit more what they are referencing rather than just being about being drunk.
