That's what I assumed about him, but had no idea if you meant you didn't like it or not. Well, what I do in that situation is to say (once we're in the mood, not like over dinner xD) 'hey, I'm on my period. Is that an issue?' Most guys in my experience don't care so it's all good. If he's one of those who don't like it, then you can suggest doing other things (that depends on whether you wear a pad or a tampon) or just get a raincheck (which sucks, but it shouldn't ruin your day).

And in my anecdotal experience, this was a lot more awkward in my head than it ended up being the first time it happened.
