Thank YOU. Seriously. She was grating. Like, what are you doing with your life right now? You FOOL. But it was also kind of sad, because you realize she did this because he gave her attention, she found him attractive, and I had a certain level of respect for Specter (despite being a serial killer) until he started cavorting with her. UGH. What are you doing man?

DA

I hated this whole plot so much. It was more like a male fantasy than realistic portayal of anything to me (and also just annoying as fuck). I generally thought that S2 was a bit of a let down (unfortunately).

I'm going to have to disagree. It was creepy and she was an annoying character, but I don't see it is either unrealistic or a male fantasy. Spector's bond to her isn't straightforwardly sexual. It's not so much her as fascination with pain and death that attracts him. Each time he makes a sexual move, it's purely distraction, i.e. when he forcibly kisses her to retrieve his "trophy" of the lock of hair, or when he behaves like they're going to have sex but instead leaves her tied to the bed to think about how foolishly she's behaving. He definitely uses her later on, but more as an accomplice than a sexual plaything.

Arguably, you can say the fantasy is about power, not sex. But is that what you were talking about when you said it was a male fantasy? It looks to me like you were distracted by the fact that it involves a schoolgirl while missing out on the nuances of what both characters are seeking.
