Obviously I can't speak for the writers you know, OP, but when it comes to my (admittedly not that kinky) sex scenes in original published fic, it's very rarely, if ever, anything that does it for me IRL.

I know the whole "writers don't have to like/agree with/endorse the things they write" thing is probably stale by now, but it's true. I'm more interested in whether whatever I'm writing works for the characters and what I'm trying to explore within the plot than I am with whether or not it's something I'd do or something that gets me off. It gets that character off, and they're who they are because they serve the plot and the story, and that's really all I care about.
