I'm the opposite of you. I liked V for Vendetta, but only in a "cool story, would not support this dude IRL" way. So I loved Psycho Pass's ending. And I think real life constantly shows it's what most people would do, even if they don't think they would.

Spoiler territory

In real life, I'd probably say both of them are wrong. I'm not keen on the idea of forcing change by violence. But when a society is built on killing and imprisoning innocent people, I think there's always a reason to wait. Always a promise that if you let the brutality keep going for now, there will be a way in the future to stop it. Not any specific time in the future, just in the future, and it will remain in the future no matter how long you wait and how many people you let suffer.

Or in other words, “If not us, then who? If not now, then when? Will there be a better day for it tomorrow or next year? Will it be less dangerous then? Will someone else's children have to risk their lives instead of us risking ours?”

Didn't watch Psycho Pass, just checking in to express the fact that I broadly side with V For Vendetta here
