Well, the thing I loved best about KQ was the mythology and Shakespeare references. And I loved the family dynamic. Does Quest for Glory have those?

It's got plenty of mythology (including a fair bit of Slavic, Arabic, and African mythology, which is BOSS). Not as many Shakespeare references, but more references to things like 1001 Nights and such.

It's also more on the side of silly and slightly dirty humour, but does have some very precious family moments in QFGIV.

This does sound interesting.

Is it a newer game or more contemporary to KQ? Would it be easy to get? I only have a PC.
Is the game play similar to earlier KQ, later KQ, or something different?
Are there any family elements?

The series is actually almost exactly as old as KQ. They're old Sierra PC games.

Game play is almost identical. Point and click adventure games.

They're available from GOG.com.

(I think I already answered the family elements question, but as for rating they're probably PG rated)
